Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, NET/SLET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Assistant Professor for those with post-graduate degree. However, the candidates having Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET/SLET for PG level teaching.

Educational Qualifications and Experiences as per AICTE norms
Lecturer (Engineering/Technology Discipline)
First Class Master's Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.)/Technology (Tech.) (No minimum experience required).
OR
First Class Bachelor's degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology or equivalent, valid GATE score, minimum 75 percentile; to complete M.Tech./ME within 5 years failing which the increments will be stopped until the post graduate degree is earned.

Lecturer, Architecture (As per Council of Architecture norms)
First class Bachelor degree in Architecture or equivalent, registration with council of Architecture.

Lecturer, (MCA Discipline)
First Class M.C.A. Degree/M.Sc. (Computer Science)/M.Sc. (Information Technology) with NET qualification.
